Pegah Ferydoni was born June 25th of 1983 in Tehran/Iran to a family of historians and artists of Georgian and Azeri origin, infamously known as political dissidents of both the time of Shah and the Mullah regime.
Thus growing up in Berlin/Germany since her early childhood, with both her parents being professional musicians, she started a career as a vocalist in several choirs, childrens music theatre and the local YMCA, leading to her first record deal as a solo performer by the age of 15, which she suspended shortly after in favor of acting.
After graduating from high school at the age of 19, failing entrance examination to any public acting school and therefore studying philosophy for 3 semesters, she won her first auditions for leading roles on screen while working as a stage assistant.
Ever since she became vastly popular for her breakthrough role as one of the main characters in the comedy hit show and movie TURKISH FOR BEGINNERS, the internationally acclaimed Drama WOMEN WITHOUT MEN by Shirin Neshat, as the TV law enforcer DR SARAH KHAN in 3 seasons of the German crime series SOKO HAMBURG, and numerous other appearances on screen and stage.
Also an experienced presenter and interviewer, she was host of her own TV show „Kulturpalast“ on 3sat and ZDFkultur.
